The Console War – Nintendo Wii
Yeah, we start this mini-series with Nintendo’s little mini system.
NOTE: Yes, I have noticed that the green screen is a little schizo in this video. I don’t know what happened there. No need to comment on that.

you go on wifi and look up around your friends list, there should be an area that says “my friend code” i dont remember cause i only went on wifi for brawl like twice.

Finally, I agree with your point of owning another system. Personally, I’ve kept my Gamecube because I feel it had a better library of quality games like Melee and not nearly as much shovelware. I love the Wii, but I think the Gamecube was better in a few areas

The Friend Codes …
The Friend Codes thing was to protect all the little kid gamers from predators online. Theyshould’ve made it optional. For example “If you are over the age of 13, you may opt out of the friend code system” but no. Now we all have to suffer the code system because Nintendo still thinks we’re all 5 years old and can’t handle online play like the 360 or PS3. It’s bullshit

The reason why …
The reason why there’s so much shovelware is because Nintendo used to have the Official Nintendo Seal of Quality. This means that games would not be released unless they were of certain quality. This was used for the previous systems. But they changed that seal to the Official Nintendo Seal. Regardless of how much it sucks, the game will now be released for the system

The wii is a great system but it isn’t being used to its full potential. Nintendo should’ve included a hard drive in the system to begin with. It kind of defeats the purpose of the virtual console in a way because you can’t store a ton of games.

I thought your were being pretty unfair on the Wii here. To be honest, the Mario/Zelda etc etc franchise goes well. Nintendo have added new idea’s, and gives what was loved about the games.
They should make more sequels or reboots of their other franchises I agree, but the ones they do now aren’t bad at all.
The real problems with the Wii are the mass amount of party games and the dumbdowned Wii versions of 360/ps3 games.

Nintendo avoided …
Nintendo avoided the hard drive option to avoid the problem of software piracy that plagues(ed) the original XBox. An overly paranoid policy which includes regular firmware updates..

Plus new games coming out like REDC, Tatsunoko vs Capcom, New Super Mario Bros, Metroid Other M, Silent Hill, Dragon Quest X, Final Fantasy CB, etc.

The Wii actually …
The Wii actually feeds most my gaming needs. I never really liked the genre of games made for the other two consoles. I do enjoy some Halo, Final Fantasy and Metal Gear is okay, but I’m not a big fan to actually purchase the others consoles, or just one of them.
