Part 2 of 2. Classic Game Room HD reviews Wii SPORTS RESORT for nintendo wii. Bowling, golfing, sword fighting, archery, wakebording, air sports, basketball, frisbee and canoeing, it’s all here with Wii Sports Resort for Nintendo Wii for use with the Wii Motion Plus attached to your Wii controller. The WiiMotion Plus is supposed to give better response and movement to games like table tennis and golf, and maybe it does. Regardless, this feels like more of the same from Nintendo who has not been able to out do their best two games, Bowling and Golf! You get more bowling and golf with wii Sports Resort, set in a resort location where you can bike around the beautiful island that reminds me of another game…. (Dead or Alive Xtreme 2 anyone??) Wii Sports Resort is a great game from 2 player action with many of the sports best played against a friend. If you’re looking for well-made family video gaming that will keep your kids occupied for days this is a nice game to look at. Normally high Nintendo production value and excellent use of the Wii controls make it a playable game to get off the couch and enjoy. well then i guess …
well then i guess we’ll call them ‘microsoft exclusives’ – or shall i specify as ‘console exclusives’ … well lets see, MGS4 is for long-time fans and i appreciate and respect the effort, but i only played MGS1, so i’m good. Cant on Uncharted. Killzone an Socom has equivelants on other concoles. Is warhawk a flight sim? dont really like those so thats out. and i dont know what heavenly sword is…
PS3 is a great console, but i still dont feel like i’m missingout on anything not owning one

lol all 360 exclusives come out on pc. MGS4, Uncharted 2, Killzone 2, Socom, Heavenly Sword, Resistance and Warhawk are all still PS3 exclusives. MGS4 and Uncharted 2 are definaetlly worth picking up a PS3. Even if you don’t like the games, at least you’ll have a blue ray player/media center for your tv.

Wii is putting out …
Wii is putting out finally some good adult games for real gamers. 2K sports and EA sports have put out some great sports games for Wii also.

I’m mainly a sports …
I’m mainly a sports gamer and 2k and EA have put out some great games for the console which I have bought and been very pleased. The Wii is a very fun system and I love it…and i’m 28 years old. Recently they have been releasing some adult games though and thats definetly a step in the direction of getting older gamers to check out the console.

i dont feel like i missed out on a thing not owning a ps3… and i could run down and buy one tonight easily… i just dont see a need to.

i been ‘gaming’ …
i been ‘gaming’ since 1991… and i own a wii. though i deliberately skipped the n64 and gamecube, i decided to give wii a chance, and it was somewhat a let down. i heard there were all these great games… which i guess are imports because i dont see them… the motion control is a gimmic at best, and out of the 10 actually good games the wii has, 5 of them are ports…
i turn on my wii once in a while but for the most part, my wii and its accessories are dust collectors. VC is a joke aswell..

if the japanese …
if the japanese werent racist, it would easily be the 360 ftw. IMO, nintendo didnt play its part this gen (or last gen) with handhealds keeping them afloat. I think there was ONE good year where the wii was selling like hotcakes, and the gimmic wore off. With Natal and the PS3 wand right around the corner, wii is definately an endangered species… i personally think it has maybe 10 really decent games in its entire library, and we all know half of them are ports… but i had high hopes…

As a gamer, I don’t …
As a gamer, I don’t care about profit. I care about GAMES! And other than a few bright lights of quality (Mario Galaxy, New Super Mario Bros, Metroid Prime Trilogy, and Zelda), the Wii is being raped by the 360 and PS3, both of which has a large collection of high quality games.
tl;dr version: Wii fails.

nah, gamers would easily buy a wii and play it and stuff…there are a few good games but for the most part…you’re right. it’s all about toddlers, and fatass families (wii fit). but hey, by targeting that audience, the wii has sold more consoles than the xbox 360 or ps3 without changing the system at all or lowering the prices like the ps3 and 360 had to…so in a way Nintendo is being very smart business-wise, but they me and other gamers the off.

the only thing …
the only thing innovative about the wii is the target audience. for the most part, nintendo screwed over their loyal fans for little kids and familes. its not a bad console, but i don’t think any seasoned, experienced gamer would be caught dead with a wii.

Where the PS3 …
Where the PS3 shines is with it’s exclusives game developers that work on a multi platform game just don’t put as much work on the PS3 as they do with the 360.

What are you parameters for success? Generally these are products to be sold to consumers for profit … profit is something Microsoft and Sony seem to have a good deal of trouble with.

Dominating a market and also create markets where none where before through innovation and imagination as oppose to horsepower?
I would say its the only next gen console or at least current gen. What is really new about the other two and why buy them if you already own a computer?

I once heard someone state that the Wii is the only next generation console and that the other two are just upgraded last generation consoles. The Wii being the only thing that seems well “new”
I kinda agree with such a statement … depends on the day but I do love the innovation … actual innovation not just dropping a supercharger on the unit lol.

dude… seriously the wii is not a bad console. Most of the games are very innovative and fun. I mean come on, if your gonna slam something do it to the ps3.
One it costs to much
Two almost all the games are also for Xbox
Three its pretty much a PS2 with a blueray player.

Now there`s a tool set out there produced specifically for unlocking video gaming consoles. It permits you to open up everything from nes to ps 3, quite awesome little thing from Shinobii named, not suprisingly, Console Toolkit.
